What is Horizon?
Horizon is the official robot of FRC team 9023 for the CRESCENDO (2023-24) season, which made it to World Championships in Houston and went up to Quarterfinals in the play-offs in the Archimedes division.
Featuring several innovative design choices, Horizon is an efficient and reliable robot, holding up through several hours of matches.

- Fully custom under the bumper intake, arm structure, and powerful shooter
- Built in contingencies for arm/arm structure and shooter failure
- Intake driven by 2 Vortex motors with a 3:1 gear ratio for a touch-and-own intake
- Arms lifted by 2 Falcon 500 motors with a gear ratio of 100:1
- Wrist pivoted by 2 Falcon 500 motors with a gear ratio of 75:1
- Custom shooter with 3 Neo motors with no planetaries for fast shooting
